Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analogue used in lipodystrophy research.
Scientific Monograph & Mechanistic Overview
Tesamorelin is a synthetic peptide consisting of all 44 amino acids of human GHRH with the addition of a trans-3-hexenoic acid group. This modification enhances its stability and resistance to enzymatic degradation.
It is primarily studied for its ability to reduce visceral adipose tissue (fat around organs) in models of lipodystrophy. By stimulating the pituitary to release GH, it promotes lipolysis and has shown significant potential in cardiovascular and hepatic research related to fat distribution.
