Scientific Monograph & Mechanistic Overview
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the naturally occurring tetrapeptide tuftsin. It was developed in the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In research, Selank is studied for its potent anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and nootropic effects. Unlike traditional benzodiazepines, Selank research suggests it does not cause sedation or cognitive impairment. It is thought to work by modulating the expression of IL-6 and the concentration of monoamine neurotransmitters.
